It's honestly too hot for makeup, hair down, bras, boys, and negative energy. So my list of must-haves for the summer heat here to make your life a little bit easier.
When it comes to makeup, having a full face in the summer heat sometimes isn't the vibe. I usually like to layer on the sunscreen, build upon some creamy makeup products, and use minimal powders to get a dewy skin-like finish. (Don't get me wrong, you'll see still see me with a full face on the days I'm feeling spicy which we can touch upon in another post- "Waterproofing the SLAYAGE").
Sunscreen- Let's talk about it. Over quarantine, I took an "all about skin" masterclass with a makeup artist I follow and after that I went into full SUNSCREEN MODE all day every day. When it comes to sunscreen, you really want a higher SPF in the 40's and higher. Sun rays are being absorbed by your skin up to 80%, even on the cloudy days! Your face, neck, chest, and hands are all in jeopardy because that's where the skin is the thinnest and where the wrinkles often form first showing age. Now when we talk about a full face of makeup for a special occasion where pictures are being taken- sunscreen can often give you that flashback in photos so be mindful of that! Every other day... don't skip it!
My Favorite SPF Products for Under Foundation:
I personally am using* Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench SPF 40 - I love this so far! It's super light on the skin, great for sensitive skin, and infused with hyaluronic acid and glycerin, which are primary ingredients when looking for skin products.
SuperGoop Sunscreen Daily Moisturizer or GLOW SCREEN
Murad City Skin Age Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50
Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer SPF 30
I usually go about some concealer next, (Tarte Shape Tape or Nars Creamy Radiant Concealer) just in the areas I want to conceal- dark spots, under eyes, pimples...
I then like to throw a little contour on the using cream products. This gives a little dimenion to the face and gives you the sunkissed tan we all want and need. Check out my favorites on my contour post!
Blush has recently been a favorite of mine. I was never into it but now I can't do my makeup without! Creamy products are great for the summer to pop on a rosy or peachy healthy-looking glow. NUDESTICKS are my favorite for this! My go-to colors are Bare Back, Poppy Girl, and Cherry Blossom Babe. These can be uses as a lip cream too. Two for one, heck yes. Also by NUDESTICKS is another favorite product for the GLOW called Bubbly BEBE. I use this on the highpoints of the face where I would usually use a highlighter. It gives the perfect light in the right areas where you don't look like you just got out of the pool.
Waterproof Mascara is a MUST! Nothing is more traumatizing than when you have been at a pool party and you run to the restroom, look in the mirror and it looks like you've gotten in a fight over last White Claw. Even if you are prone to having your mascara transfer- try a waterproof mascara! My favorites are drugstore ones- L'oreal Telescopic Mascara Waterproof or the Voluminous Waterproof Mascara.

What I am currently listening to- Have you guys watched "Too Hot To Handle" on Netflix?? Well if you have, I am obsessed with Harry Jowsey (HEART EYES). I follow him on instagram and like all his shirtless pics but that is besides the point. He has a playlist on spotify called "The Biscuits" and it has some perfect summer vibey upbeat songs. Currently on repeat.
